I have a 1972 Cutlass Supreme and just upgraded the wheel and tire combo. I would like to lower the rear end a little more. I have upgraded to all polyurathane bushings and hotckis 1" lowering springs and shocks but still not satisfied. Would like to lower another 1"-1.5". Please help. On a budget airbags not an option unless cheap.

Loosen and retorque all the suspension bolts when the car's weight is on the wheels, and let it settle for a few weeks. If you've done that and it's still too high, trim a quarter coil or so from the springs and repeat until you get the ride height you're looking for.

You could also go with a circle track spring. I'm running an 11" spring in the back, but they also make a 12". They are about $45 each.

Make sure the suspension isn't preloaded like Yoda said. chevelles.com pro-touring section has a bunch of spring info.
