Hey all,
Thinking about ditching my current SBC 383/LS1 T56 Combo in favor of an LS based engine.
I have started compiling a list of parts needed for the swap... what am I missing?
ATS Motor Mounts 140
ATS Crossmember 349
Dynatech Headers 400
Engine 800
Cam 600
Oil Pan 400
Flywheel/Clutch 1000
Intake/Ignition 649
Other 400
Alternator bracket 167
Thanks,
Chris

If you already have the T-56 installed, why do you need a new crossmember? The position of the transmission shouldn't move.
GM now sells an LS oil pan for 60's - 70's muscle cars. It is only $136 at the CrateEngineDepot and it includes the pan, windage tray, mounting hardware and dipstick.

it probably will, mine did with ATS mounts. It moved forward which required me to lengthen the driveshaft 1-1.25" also. There was no way to move the engine further back either, the rear of the passenger head was less than an inch from the firewall.

That is the LH8 Hummer pan and it sits way too low in a first gen F body. There is a guy on ebay selling a nice cast factory style conversion pan that will work well. It is a little pricey but given how much he must have spent on tooling it is a fair deal.
Don't forget you will need an EFI compatible gas tank with pump and pressure regulator etc.

1st of all you need to make sure that ATS mounts will work with the dyna tech headers. i suggest buying whatever mounts work with your headers.
ats mounts are made for ats headers with rack and pinion steering.

Ron at Vengeance on Ls1tech had a Autokraft aluminum pan for sale in the Southern Section classifieds. It may save you some money.

Does the pan have any baffling for oil control? The autokraft pan has 4 trap doors in the sump for oil control.

I think ATS mounts and headers are set up for the Lee box (or any first gen box), not rack and pinion.

Yep - someone on here was using the exact setup and that is what pushed me there... that and the new dynatech pricing ($400 for coated headers).
