Im building a1972 350 and Im up to deciding on what carb to use so I called (BG) Demon carb Techs and they said I have a mix match build
and the manifold will not work ,and the cam is not for build.
As I was building this engine I was on the phone constantly with all
techs from Eldebrock,Comp Cams,Summit,Jegs,Speed Pro,Holley,and
the Carb shop and they all thought this build would work.
The engine is still on the stand so im willing to RE-DO and make it
right.Heres info on the car its going in;1972 NOVA SS with 4 speed
stick,3:42 posi rear, wheel size im not sure yet might be 17"or 18"
wheels, and the intended use will be weeknights and weekend cruises
and getting on the highway and open it up. I am the original owner.
Here is a list of the parts in the build:
350 block bored .030 0ver .100 domed pistons speed pro hypereutectic
projected compression RATIO 9.3-9.5, cast iron heads 76cc combustion
chambers ; intake valves 1.94 exhaust 1.50 , heads machined .002
3 angle valve job , head gasket thickness .042 no porting work.
stainless valves, roller tip rocker arms 1.52 ratio
comp cam thumpr# CCA-12-600-4 cam specs rpm range 2000-5800
duration @ .050 intake 227 exhaust 241 gross valve lift intake .479
and exhaust .465 , flat tappet HYD lifters
performer RPM air gap manifold. Hooker super comp headers 2 1/2"
exhaust with X pipe - magniflow.
I need to know what needs to be changed: manifold, CAM, or heads
I would appreciate any input/advice . If OK, need to know what
kind of carb. and CFM .
Thanks
