Does anyone know how to find out what the widest tire and rim you can install without tubbing the car.
I will be getting custom made rims to match the back spacing I would want for it to match without rubbing

On the rear of my '66 El Camino, with rolled outer fender lips, over the years I've had:

295/50/15 w/ 15x10
285/40/17 w/ 17x10
295/45/18 w/ 18x10 (current setup)
295/35/19 w/ 19x10

All wheels had/have a 5.5" back space. There's some more room between the inside of the tire and frame, so I think with a little careful measuring, I might be able to squeeze an 11" wide wheel in there.

Call Justin at Drivers Inc. he will tell you exactly what you can do. I have a 67 and he told me you can run a 10 in. wide rear. As soon as I get the car running he is my next call.
