I feel like I am using antique technology compared to some here, but it's what I have to work with. I have all the C4 parts, and the drum hubs and spindles machined. I just need to get around to making the adaptor bracket that will attach the cradle to the spindle. I fouond these on Ebay, and thought they might work. It will save me a little time , and certainly look better than what I will be capable of making. Can anyone confirm these will work? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1,1&item=4545889771&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT

nope, those will not work, you say you have c4 13 inch stuff, and i believe the 12 and 13 inch stuff has different brackets let alone, c4 to ls1 brake stuff

If I have the c5 vette calipers and rotors can I use these brackets on my 65 impala spindles? Any guesses?

Bret, are you talking about the F-body or the Y-body caliper abutements, concerning the LS1 statement ??

Hey Tom,

I have the "cradle bracket"=abutment(?) for the C4 13" PBR setup. I need the flat steel bracket that will adapt the abutment to the machined drum spindle. The bracket I referenced in the Ebay link looked very similar to the bracket I need, but was advertised as being for LS1 brakes. I was trying to find out if the hole spacing was the same and therefore if they would work.

I thought someone here was making these for my application but I cannot find any reference for them now.

Thanks

Here is a link with some dimensions, initially I was under the impression that you could use both 12 and 13" with the with the one c4 bracket. Anyway I am opting for 12" LS1 stuff due to a lack of master cyl for c4 and bracket source? I am not sure if they are only ls1. I am sure you are familiar with David Pozzis site, but here is the link anyway, check the CBB if you haven't already. Good luck, I had trouble finding anyone still selling c4 brackets. Touring classics doesn't have them. SS

The ebay ones look similar, but it's hard to say if the holes are in the right place for the C4 calipers. Maybe the seller would know.

If they don't work. It would be pretty easy to make a set using the template on Possis web site. You can ever get a 1/4" plate at Lowes that would be big enough. Well, they have it at my local ones...

are the ls1 calipers larger in size than a 12"c4 caliper? I am getting ready to do the 12"c4 conversion on my 69 camaro and I called Baer and talked to a tech guy and he told me to go with a manual 77 malibu mc15/16 he said thats what comes in there kits. I am tryingg to keep this a manual setup.
Is it easier to find a direct fit mc from a late model f/body that will work?

Tyler/Teetoe jones was making (no longer)the hybrid bracket for ls1 style calipers and that link is for those not c4, it states what to use. I have the template for the c4 12" from that site if someone needs it, shoot me a PM. The c4 caliper for 13" j55 is considerably smaller than the ls1 fbody caliper from all the pics I have seen and by just looking at them through the wheels of someones car. Check rockaouto by application usually it will have a pic, I am not sure on the 12" c4 size I think LS1 is going to be bigger since the rotor is 1.25" for 98-02 fbody on the 12" and .81" for the c4. Anybody with a line on some of the 98-02 calipers let me know. SS
