Tach signal?

Can anybody tell me where I can pick up the tach signal on a 2006 LS2. I have Dakota gauges in the car and was wondering if it gets picked up from a coil or an injector or???

The tach signal comes from the ECM. Dakota Digital sells a box that will compensate for the number of cylinders etc if you cannot change the programming in the ECM. There are also some boxes that trigger on a coil wire, I think Autometer sells one.

I was told it was the white wire in the ECM harness.

Maybe this will help. Sounds like pin 48 white wire.
