Car: 1968 Camaro....

Was going to do the mod this past weekend but started doing some thinking (and yes, that's scary!). Anyway, the way I understand it, the Guldstrand mod is basically just relocating the UCA mount holes 3/4" lower than stock (then grinding the to of the UCA mount accordingly for clearance.). Should I consider relocating the holes not only 3/4" lower but also a set distance toward the rear to give more positive caster? If yes, then how far should that be for average usage (mostly street driven)? Or would that give too much positive caster?

Thanks!

He's gone today, I'll try tommorow...guess I'm not drilling any holes tonight! LOL... I made a template up on CAD and set it up with the new holes 3/4" straight down from the original mounting holes. Just wondered if there was any benefit of moving them slightly back for more positive caster.

Is there anybody here that has the templates or that has done the mod know anything about the hole locations in general??

I beleive that is what the mod actually does. It moves them down and back. By the way if you talk to Bobby he will explain that you need none of the other products being sold. He is good guy with a lot of info.

Thanks guys... I downloaded that template and redrew it up on CAD, was also able to relocate the front hole from 1.060" down to .875" down. I'll talk with Bobby and see what all he has to say.

Thanks!!!!

Remember, that there are two applicable locations to consider. And the one you have noted is from the middle 70's...... the second one was reconfigured in the late 80's and was made to change some other influences that the change performs.

Chicane, thanks. I saw that note form you on Pozzi's site. So the .875" is the way to go over the 1.060"?

From my experience, I have never set one up to the 1.060" location, so I have no real feedback for you on how much of a difference it makes and/or what the difference is in seat of the pants feel.

Dickypoo and I only had conversations on and about the 0.875" location and nothing else was really considered. I had always taken that, as his 'final say'. I know there were other location points that he had tried, but his direction in the early 90's was toward the 0.875" location........ and unless he has changed his mind and let us know differently, I would use that location.
