Street Strut Suspension

Anybody have any experience with a street strut suspension? Specifically, I'm working with a 66-67 Nova but comments from any application would be appreciated. I think FatMan is the only vendor (FatMan Street Strut (http://www.fatmanfab.com/05page19.htm)) but I could be wrong. How would you rate this type IFS relative to an OEM or aftermarket a-arm type suspenion? Thanks. -Bob

I think if I were given the choice of anything I would pick A-arms and not a strut but then again I'm not overly familiar with them.

Certainly an effective solution should be able to be implemented. One of the more obvious problems would be high KPI. and lack of camber, caster adjustment (these are just off the top of my head, I didn't research it so maybe I'm off). Maybe there isn't a high KPI. Is it figured through the top mounting point?

It will be interesting to see if anyone has some pros and cons of a strut suspension.

What is drawing you to a strut design? What are you looking to accomplish with the car?

Well, nothing necessarily - just curious about whats out there. I thought the strut system might be a little cheaper but when you see what FatMan wants for the kit and what you have to supply I don't think there are any economies there! Car will be primarily street but I don't think I'll be able to settle for OEM suspension. I'm retrofitting an LS1/T56 or TKO600 into it. -Bob
