Need some help deciding proper wheel size/backspacing. 68 chevelle with ls1 front brakes, so the 15's gotta go, still drums in rear for now. Lowered with eibach pro kit 1.3 drop springs, i already rolled the rear wheel lips. No tailpipes. Decided on AR ttII's 17 by 8 front and 18 by 10 or 18 by 9.5 rear. Is the 10 possible on the rear without any modifications, if it is what backspacing? I want the staggered look. With the 18 how tall of a tire can i run without issues? potholes! I've read on here that 68-72 chevelles can handle a large wheel on the rear. Thanks in advance, Dave

You should be fine with a 10" wide wheel in the back without modification, if you run the right tire. Talk to DriverzInc, they will set you up with a perfect fit with great pricing.

68 chevelles are a little different from the 69 to 72 chevelles in the rear wheel wells. There is a step in the inner fender that moves in an inch or so behind the wheel lip. Put your fingers under the rear wheel lip and you should feel it. Be sure to check that your new wheels and tires will clear it!
