      Where to put A/C contoller?

I have a dilemma and I need some suggestions. I have 2 different Gen II A/C contollers. The Billet one is nice and shiny, but it would have to go where my radio would go. The original one could go up ont the face of the insert and free up room for the radio, but it doesn't look as sharp as the the streamline one. Should I build a box for either a radio or the streamline contoller under the radio?

Can you get/make a different face for the second one? If so, that one on the dash insert would be best. I hate anything where the factory radio is, incluiding the radio. But hey, that's my issue with fishing my hand around my knee!

A different face would be killer for the 2nd one. I'm not 6'9", but close at 6'2", and don't like dangling keys or anything getting in the way getting in the way by my knees either. If I can do the A/C on the face of the insert I'll probably do the radio directly underneath the ashtray.

If you decide against the streamline and want to get rid of it let me know.

I talked to Roy at Vintage Air and he said I could switch the black face for a machined one along with the stickers for about $40 so I may go that route.

If you have an aftermarket stereo, maybe a under dash pocket. They come in single and double din sizes.

I think the 4 round knobs are a much better looking design. Have you though about selling the two you have and buying a vertical version of the 4 knob setup?

I also think moving the stereo under the dash or to the glovebox is another good idea....

I finally decided on what to do. I got a machined face form VA and switched it over. I think it looks better than the black one and also frees up the space on the bottom for a radio or any switches I may need.

That looks good. Just what I thought of above.

Yeah, thanks for the advice. It worked out really well. I couldn't use the vertical Streamline panel because it is a Gen II and the 4 knobs made it too tall. This one fit perfect although there wasn't much wiggle room.

Also, thanks to 68nate who took the horizontal Streamline panel off my hands.
