      sway bar quiz

once upon a time ago i read that if a person had the right spring rate ratio, proper springs, and the right amount of traction (in pounds) available that you could set up a chassis w/o sway bars.

      any truth to this?

Yep. I wouldn't want to drive it on the street though. The sta-bar replaces spring rate so the springs can be run softer for ride comfort. Some tracks are not too kind to chassis' running excessive spring rates either.

finally, someone talking some sense. Living in Grand Rapids, MI, I was having a hard time conceptualizing running really stiff springs with solid bushings (i.e. OUR ROADS SUCK!!!!).

My question with respect to using sta-bar and softer springs would be how do traction bars fit into the systsem? If they do fit in, set no preload?
