      not a whole lot.

It's been a while since I've peeked around under that generation of C-10. My buddy had one a while back that we worked on together.

I personally had a 64 C10 which I know is the earlier generation but it was really easy to install a 700R4. I just needed the following:

      - 700R4 tranny and converter
      - Correct TV cable and bracket for the carb and intake
      - Converter lock up kit
      - redrilled the cross member mounting holes and moved it back an inch or two (this required modifying the length of the e-brake cables or you could give up the ebrake).
      - have the drive shaft shortened.

Early classic enterprises has a good crossmember for the price.

700r4.com has a good TV kit for many different setups.

Correct me if I'm wrong but don't I don't think you need a lockup kit if you transmission is a lockup?

Pretty much all 700R4's unless modified are lockup transmissions. If you put them in an older vehicle the trans needs someway to know when to lock and unlock the converter. If you ignore this step the converted won't lock which will lower your cruising mileage noticably and shorten the life of the trans. I've always heard that you should not run a 700R4 without the ability for it to lock in 4th gear or it will burn up.

When I used to run 700R4's I liked the painless lockup kit because it used engine vacuum so it would automatically unlock under load such as a larger hill or acceleration. kits like the B&M are speed based so they don't work as nicely IMO>

Just to clarify I didn't say they wouldn't. I just personally would not run a lockup kit that didn't reference engine vacuum or load in some way.

won't the trans take itself out of lockup? using the TV valve for load reference. i seem to recall that's how the 200-4r works.
