I just purchased a C6 setup for my Chevelle. The previous owner put all of the rotors in the same box without saying which caliper/pads went with which rotor. They are in very good, very low mile condition. What will happen if I put it together and put the opposite pads with a rotor??

You can hit them all with a sanding disc and re bed the brakes. I doubt it will be a problem though.

Todd's correct...shouldn't be a problem either way. If the pads are glazed at all, you should knock the glaze off just to get the best performance from them, but position relative to the rotors doesn't really matter. We're not dealing with lifters or anything like that. The pad with the wear indicator (squealer) however should be installed on the piston side of the caliper. Conventional wisdom says that even if the caliper siezes on it's floating pins, the pistons will continue to push the inner pad and wear it out first, hence the positioning of the squealer.
