Hey guys,
first of all i have to say this is a great website. I've been reading these boards for almost a year now and i was able to get thru 90% of my build just by using the search function.
I live in a small country in the Arabian gulf called Qatar. I bought my 68 camaro from the US about 4 years ago. Last year i started to turn my car in to a protouring machine. I got a speedtech front subframe and rear suspension along with wilwood brakes and an LS1/TKO600.

I will post pics of my car very soon .

I just ran into a small problem with my wheel setup. The car originally came with Torque-Thrust II wheels. The rears are 17x8 with a 4 inch back-spacing. they fit OK but I'm getting a new strange 9" with an overall length of 59 inches. so its about 1 inch less than stock. The car is not mini tubbed. And i would like to get a slightly wider wheel in the rear 9.5 . what is the best back spacing with my narrowed rearend? American racing offers them in the following sizes: 4.5, 5, 5.5, 6.5 and 7 .

I plan on buying some nicer wheels in the near future (rushforth, Boze, intro or Bonspeed) and since I'm still not sure about mini tubbing the car (i still can't find a place i trust to do it right in Qatar) i don't want to buy expensive wheels.

your help is greatly appreciated.

I forgot to mention that my fenders are slightly flared. I have about 13.5 inches from the inner wheels well to the fender lip.

I forgot to measure before, Do you guys know what is the stock measurements?
