help me find some wheels for my cutlass

      I have $1200 to spend.
I was thinking like some corvette deep dish wheels with black centers and buy some spacers to make em work.
I want something that comes in 17" or 18" in diamater and 10" wide or more for the rear or maybe 18 up front and 19 in back.

these here are reasonable priced - http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/19-18...RCHQ3aUSQ3a101

What do yall think? I don't know if the corvette wheels would look that good.
I have also thought about coys c-55.

Thanks. I just want modern wheels and tires for better handling and I like bigger wheels.
I think I like the coys c-55s best still. I want the 17" ones cause they come wider and in chrome cause I think grey or painting them black will make the rims look smaller.

The coys are very nice, but my question is, how do you know how deep of a lip you will get when you order them? lookin at his pics, the chrome rim has a very nice lip, while the gunmetal center would definatly be a front wheel.??

I think your car could look good with rims that are black center with a polished lip.

Are you talkin about the lip on the coys or the corvette wheels?
You think if i got the 17" coys c-55s in gunmetal and painted them black it would look good?
I think so too about what you said about getting wheels with black centers and a polished lip. I just wish I had the money for some rushforths.

thanks. I like the way yours look and the wheels don't look too small. I wasn't sure if 17s would be too small.
And my car already has a chevy motor in it. I don't want the corvette wheels anymore though. It would just be too much trouble and I don't know if I would be happy with them.

Im talking about the Coys wheels. with the colors your car has, having just chrome rims might take a whole lot of attention away from the rest of the flow of the car. You have alot of black with the vinyl, and stripes, and really minimal chrome compared to the black, so polished lip would go reall well with the rest of the chrome, and the black would flow real good.
The 17's would look great, I would run a stagger if possible and get a nice lip on the rear.

I agree with what all you said. When you say stagger you mean like different diameters or the width? Like 17s up front and 18s in back?

yes and no...lol..confused yet?..lol..me too. I mean the stagger about the width and lip size of front versus rear rims...like say when you look at 350z's running around or bmw's that have a nice rear lip, adding the illusion of a very deep rim...since we are on a huge budget, im looking at all options, and the first build for our cutlass will decidedly be "pro-touring poser take 1"...lol
Another member on here and classic oldsmobile...(aceshigh) has a stagger of 17's front and 18's rear? I myself might want whatever deal I find, but 18's front and 19 or possibly 20's rear..can also be a very good look for our cars.
My wife found a set of rims for a 350z and a set of bmw rims that area staggered with deep rear lips, with tires less then 5k miles for 650 and 800.

Regarding the Centerlines that Joe posted a link to, they don't have them and haven't for some time. Tried to buy them back in June or july, even sent my credit card info, no go. Don't know why they don't update thier web site. Jim

What do yall think of boss 338 wheels? I would have them painted black.
5" of backspacing would work on the rear right?

Thanks for explaining that. I would really like to run 18s in front and 19s for the rear but I can't find some I like or they are too expensive. I saw some nice 350z and bmw wheels when I was lookin on ebay.

those woould look killer with 18x9.5 and 18x8 on the front..tire size I cant help you with..lol..Im still reading here all the time to find a nice range of sizes.
we are still looking at bmw rims, and the 350z rims will obviously need adapters unless I can convert to 5x4.5 but the deals we find on craigslist are amazing..lol

Here's a Hoopster somebody photoshopped the gold on.

Gary Williard from StreetSmartClassics.com is supposedly selling 17 or 18" versions of the classic Olds wheel. https://www.pro-touring.com/forum/sh...hlight=olds%2A

I like the idea of keeping the oldschool style but with a modern size.

Just put those exact Boss 338's on my car Friday. Running 245-45-18 in frt and 295-45-18 in rear. Car is a 72 Chevelle SS conv. Fit my car perfect, although I should mention I'm running a 12 bolt out of a 67 Chevelle, so it's a little narrower than stock. Got a killer deal on Ebay, $590. shipped to my door. Sorry no pics yet, but will say it completely changed the look of my car. very aggressive. Jim.

did you go with the same width all around?

OH YEAH!...MAN LAW!...REQUIRES you to post pics ASAP...LOL

68Formula..I will check them out as well..thanks for the tip.
I was very partial to my ADR Design M-Classics that we had on our Alero show car, and I have recently found a set of ADR M-Sport's for a BMW with a staggered set-up..800 with tires..basically the ADR's have a split web style.

EDIT..I did check out Streetsmart classics..nice wheels, but I could never afford them..I do however absolutly love the color of the car on the homepage..its exactly what Im looking to paint our Olds.

Cutlassrkt...check out craigslist in you area to see if anything is out there to at least get some more idears.
