I purchased these from Summit, they are Procar Scat Rally Series 1000. The are about $332 each, they come in vinyl but I think you can get them in leather if you go through the Procar website. You can also purchase the seat brackets for them. When installed they sat a little high in my Camaro but I got use to it, others that I read have cut the brackets down. They are nice seats for the price.

I used some late model GTO seats. They were only 300 for the pair from the local wrecker. They're leather, power, and when I get the center section re-upholstered yellow to match the car, they will really fit the bill.

Hey slownova73,
I m looking down the road at some of the procar 1000's as well. I know a few people who have them in 3rd Gen Novas. They do sit high in all of them , and in one 68 the passenger seat is higher than the drivers. :hmm: The owner not sure why, no interior/floor mods. Seat rails came with the seats.

Thank You for buying our seat belts. I noticed you have a roll bar.
Do you have our standard lanyard or a d-ring for the top mount?
If you have the lanyard and would like the d-ring to bolt to the roll bar call us. 864-987-0032 Billy

Arizens installed in Tys Firebird the week before SEMA. Very comfortable and I liked that these particular seats did not have harness holes since Ty cannot install a rollbar with harness bar and harnesses till the kids are grown and gone. They also have seats with the holes. http://www.arizenracingsports.com/

88 Corvette seats in my 71 Firebird project. I liek these as I can use the factory sliders, they give me near 2 inches of extra headroom and you can buy new foams already covered in leather that just clip into the back and base buckets. Plenty of leg room, and with the thinner seat backs, there is extra rear seat leg room.

I just got a set of the E30 seats for my car as I love the old school look of them. Were you able to use existing brackets from another brand of seat to get them to fit? If not, do you have any pics of the brackets that you made to bolt them in?
Thanks,

Kerry,
The e21 seats are genuine Recaros. LS might be the correct model number, but I am not sure to be honest. If you have E30 seats, I believe they are made by Recaro for BMW. Help me out here, are the bases removable? If so, can you get bolt spacing left to right and front to rear? I can check my brackets and see if they are identical.
FYI, I am using OE Recaro sliders on Wedge Engineering brackets.

Yes, the bases are removable. The bolt spacing doesn't line up perfectly, but I noticed that I haven't mentioned it before that I have a 66 chevelle. Please let me know if your brackets are identical or not. I'll check on the Recaro sliders.

Kerry,
Your "brackets"... Are you talking about the E30 ones? I am not using any of the stock BMW brackets. Just a heads up, I am out of town for the holiday, but when I return, I actually have one of my seats out at the moment. Shouldn't be too hard to measure. The Recaro Sliders bolted right up to the e21 seats. Just needed to space them up a bit to allow the seat to slide fore/aft. The Wedge brackets were made specifically for my car as well.

Kerry,
Here is a link to the brackets for your car. These Wedge brackets will mount OE Recaro sliders. The main question is whether or not the E30 seats have the same bolt spacing for mounting as your typical aftermarket Recaro.

They were the Scat/Procar Sportsman seats - Scat/Procar 80-1606-61L - Scat Procar Sportsman Racing Seats (http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SCA-80-1606-61L/)
Not a bad seat for the price, but way too tall with the bracket and sliders. I could have modified the brackets and sliders, but decided to return back and look for a set that would fit better from scratch.

I would have to second the thought of the 4th generation seats. Very comfy.
Mine are out of a 2000 firebird and I got the idea from a writeup on a different 68. Year One was exclaiming how well these worked and looked. I found a set off ebay cheap ($200) and had them recovered in leather to match the back that was narrowed to fit around the mini-tubs.
The seats are black leather with dark graphite gray inserts. They look much less gray in person (black and slightly less black). Sorry they are filthy in the pics, but they look great clean. I just eliminated the headrests since they just looked to tall in the car.
Having 6 way power adjustable seats as opposed to just a slider is much, much better (street car anyway). And they recline too. I replaced the seat track trim that was scratched. Still on the shelf down south in a dealership, but they are getting harder to find since the swap is getting more popular. The front brackets would have bolted right in, but you have to add small extensions to the back. Very easy swap.

Received my Recaro Specialist seats a couple of weeks ago from Recaro-Max. Anyone looking for recovered Recaro's in whatever you want, this guy is legit. Staying in contact with me the entire time and payed via PayPal so was pretty easy.
Seats look great and I even bought some additional matching leather for the rear seat when i get to that point. Came out awesome! I just ordered the Wedge brackets so once they come in I'll be able to do a test fit and see if we need to make any adjustments. These are going into my 69 Firebird project.

You are correct sir. I cut 3 inches off the top of the seats just so they would fit the look of the car as well.

I picked up one of these for myself, and I like the fit, but it's not something I'm going to force on my passengers as it's pretty tight for people who either lift or eat too much. Will either get a Chrono Road for the passenger or get a set of Recaro something and have them and the rears recovered in the same style (probably the latter).

It is a MCI stiletto that was thoroughly worked over. Due to transmission tunnel and stereo hitting we had to extensively modify to fit the tunnel. If you do get one make sure to order without the cup holder(they suck and are not functional at all) and cut your own. I used Eddie Motorsport billet cup holders. I will post more pics later.

To me, that is the sickest looking interior in a first gen I've ever seen.
It looks like it belongs there from the start.

BMW seats in my 1st gen Camaro, had to do some plate welding for anchoring them into the factory mount points, total cost with some professional upholstering of the lumbar supports 300.00.
Next up is my back seat that's from a BMW 5 series that I'm gonna try and re-work by shortening the back myself, 35.00 from the pic & save.

Sparco Torino's recovered in marine grade vinyl with red/black houndstooth fabric inserts. The OE Sparco fabric was great to sit in, but fades quickly/badly and was awful to try to keep clean. Leather was an option but not for the 10+ hours we spend in the seats during hot weather and the associated cleaning issues. This stuff feels almost like leather but is super durable.

May not be what you're looking for but didn't see anyone else post them. 2007 Nissan Maxima seats. 6 way power, very comfortable, great side bolsters to keep you in place, only downside is they're on the heavy side. I keep the headrests off of them for driving around town but will throw them back in for long trips.

For some.of you budget conscious go it's I ordered a set of Braum Alpha X seats ack with white piping in couldn't be happier when they got here.the quality has come way up from the earlier seats I seen in some cars.
I'll post pics when installed but here's a seat pic. Again they are not yet mounted but in my shop floor they ride great lol. Seriously the quality looks fantastic. They were a grand shipped to my door. Bought some matching Braum 5 point harnesses and seat brackets. All total about 1400 for pair and hardware and belts. These are definitely onpa alot nicer than the TMI pro car or elites I have owned both. For longevity, only time will tell.

Front seats are done and installed. They are 2000 Pontiac Trans Am seats, drivers side has 6-way power plus power lumbar, passenger side is manual rails but also has power lumbar. Front seat rails line up with my ‘69 Camaro mounting holes, but rears needed modifications. DS had to be cut and re-drilled, PS I had to complete cut off rear legs, weld up a new set of legs, then weld those to the cutoff section. A little work, but I love the seats. Rear seat getting final touches then matching door panels.

Oldtimer - those 2000 TA seats look great in your 69. I have a manual stock set in my 71 TA right now but was considering replacing them as they are a little worn out & not sure how they would look redone. After seeing what you did they are back on the keep list now :} LoL
Here are my other 3 options:
#2 - Sparco GT Street Seat. Just not sure how much higher they are (as well as the others) compared to the 2000 Trans Am seats I have in there now. According to Summit they are 33.8" high.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sro-009012nr
#3 - Corbeau Sport Seats. Nice but I would definitely have to cut down the head rest as they look to be 8" tall alone bringing the total height to 36.5" tall.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/csu-90010pr
#4 - Procar Touring Series. Overall height is 34" with a headrest height of 6.5. Same where I would / could cut it down 2" or so.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-80-1680-51l
# honorable mention - Procar Rally 1000 Series.
https://www.summitracing.com/parts/sca-80-1000-51l
They are tried & true in that we know they fit in these cars well & have a good amount of headroom. Total height is 30.5". My only issue is they look a little bulky whereas the other seats mentioned above look a bit trimmer or sportier & still have good bolstering. Because of this I have removed them off my short list.
Thanks everyone & LMK your first hand experience with any of these 4 I mentioned.

When you say headroom, are you referring to your headroom, or room to fit the headrest in the car? I ask because you mention seat height a lot, and also say these seats have a lot of headroom... however, I've read numerous posts where people complain these seats sit too high (the base is too high/thick) causing you to sit too high, and as a result there is not much headroom.
Probably not a bit deal, if these are on the bottom of the list. Just an FYI...

I’m 6’ and 180 lbs. I have a 33” waist and the Pro Car seat squeezes me like a friggen vice. No better after a few thousand miles. I’m going to go to a local upholstery shop and see if they can cut some foam out of the seat bolsters for more ass room.
Otherwise, I’m getting rid of them. Very disappointing.

I chose these for my "71 Nova.
Scat ProCar Elite with optional hounds tooth inserts and matching rear seat cover.
I don't have A/C and I wanted to keep the era appropriate head rest. I also did not want the huge bulging bolsters of Scats other model of seat (1000 ?). They do have me sitting a little higher than I would like but I don't find it objectionable. Next time I have them out I'll see about shortening the mounting brackets.
I looked at some other seats at the wreckers, but to buy the seats and have them re-upholstered would have cost me more (a lot more).
Overall I'm very happy with them.

No regrets on my part... I love these seats and the fact that they have just enough side bolster to secure my butt and still make getting in and out of them fairly easy. I had sat in some cars with aftermarket seats like Procars and Corbeaus with oversized bolsters and none of them really suited me. Between these seats and the Vintage Air summer driving is a lot more pleasurable.

For longer drives (One Lap, GGHOFRT, etc.) we use a pillow on the seat. The soft down-like pillows work well for us and make a world of difference. If you're tall then it may not be an option.
