      Tire fitment GM A body

What is the largest tire in a 16 or 17 that will fit in the back of a 67 GM A body. My car is a 67 GS 400 Convertible. No mods to wheel wells except I can roll the fender lips if needed.

What will also go on the front?

My first suggestion is to go with 17's for sure. I put 17's on my 69 Cutlass, and the instant I lowered it off the jackstands I thought to myself "18's would have looked even better." This is especially true if you're going to lower it. Not to mention much better tire selection in 17" size compared to 16".

I don't know specifics for your model year, but a safe bet would be 245 in the front and 275 in the back. Others will chime in with suggestions for backspacing on the wheels, which is extremely important.

17x10's in the back with a 275/50/17 is what I would suggest. Fronts are a slam dunk, feel free to give us a call after the weekend and we are fully moved into our new location. Forget about 16s, tire size availability sucks.

Go with 18s. I put 18x9 in the front with a 275/35/18 and in the rear i put an 18x10 with a 295/30/18 I did not have to do a thing to the car. No rubbing anywhere fits great you wont regret it.

On my 66 Cutlass that will be similar you your Buick I have as much tire and wheel that will fit and still be low with no cutting.
285-40-18 rear on 10" and 255-40-18 front on 9" If I have measured as little a 1/4" wrong in or out it would rub on the back.

On what car? If 72 Goat it is a big difference in a 67 unless the car is stock height no way I can see that working on a 67.

I am using Toyo T1R tires 255-40 and 285-40 front is 9" with 6.5 BS but it I did it again I would do 8.5 on 6" the wheel barley touches the back side of the lower control arm at full lock.

I am using a 72 Cutlass rear that may or may not be wider than whats in your Buick. My rear BS is 6.625"
I would not copy my exact specs because the Buick wheel wells and 1/4's are shaped different than my Olds but it might be a good starting point.

have you looked into getting 20's? i know, i know 20's are big, but remember you have some tall fenders and they need to be filled with a nice sized wheel. Even if you lower it with 18's, it will look small for the car.

Gonna have to disagree with you there. Oldsmobiles version of the same car yes I am biased because its my car but if 20's looked better I would have done 20s. I looked at every 66-67 Abody I could find for 6 months and came to the conclusion 18/18 or 18/19 is the best looking combo
