Hello All,

I just did a great track day with the SoCal P-T gang, and tried the NT-01 tires (245/45-17's on 8" wheels). I have to say that the tires worked very well.

The Results:

1) No chunking.

2) I found the grip level quite a bit better than the 220 treadwear tires that I had.

3) They slide very predictably.

4) The grip is consistent though a whole session.

5) The tread wears out very fast. I am a 1/16" (1.5mm) from buzzing the tread off of all four after a single trackday. They become a semi slick after the tread is gone. I could maybe get 2 more days in the dry from them?

6) They could only be used in rain when they are brand new.

7) The price was resonable as well.

Regards

I ran the same tire for the first time at the same event last weekend on the Chevelle. I could do no wrong on the track. I drive my car to the track and it is a little noisy and "tracks" on the way to the event, but just turn up the stereo 'cause it's well worth it!

Thanks for posting Curtis. I was looking at those tires as I need to buy new tires for The 14 Car. I was running Yokohama DOT Rs I liked very much but they've stopped making my sizes. Haven't made a decision yet but I'm leaning toward a new Goodyear DOT R tire called the Eagle RS.

Let us know how those new Goodyear tires work out. If they last awhile let us know if they heat cycle out before wearing out. I notice from your stickers that you are also a NASA member. What level are you at? I am currently in Group 3 and really like the NASA working up the ladder method.
