I just recently bought a 91 Z-28 convertible and would like any suggestions on pro-touring suspension pieces to use. I am looking at Edelbrocks pro-touring kit. Just looking for advice or prior experience! Thanks:yum:

Check with Sam http://www.stranoparts.com/ for some advice. He has done alot with the 3rd and 4th gens, especially in autox.
If you are cheap (like me), look for 85-86 Irocs for the springs and sway bars, they had the highest rate springs and large bars. But people complained about the ride so GM softened them up. Aftermarket replacement springs are available as well. My 86 Iroc front spring replacements were 700 lb from either Moog or TRW. Can't remember what the rear was. Have fun, they can be excellent pro-touring cars with just a little work.

Yea, the suspension on these cars were set up very well. Could do an aftermarket adjustable torque arm and just throw some awesome shocks on it and you are off to the races! Sub-frame connectors are always a plus. Being a convertible, I would want some kind of roll bar or something for that added safety and chassis stiffening. Also get so high quality suspension bushings. Good luck! These cars drive very nicely if done right.
Next step will be brakes!

The 3rd gen F-bodies are great platforms to start a project from and can be made to handle extremely well. It would probably be safe to say that we carry the most extensive line of 3rd and 4th Gen F-body suspension parts on this forum and have been specializing in this platform for over 10 years. From control arms and torque arms to complete tubular K-members and A-arms, we manufacture just about every suspension and chassis component for the 3rd gen F-Body.
What kind of budget are you working with and how aggressive do you want to go?

Thanks for the input. My suspension budget including upgraded brakes[ ya gotta stop sometime] is $3500.

You can do plenty of good mods for that.... I mean you're not wanting a supercar right?

I would check out UMI and Spohn as well. Both make quality parts.

I realy like the bmr stuff. I ran their parts for years on 3rd & 4th gens. I did a 92 convert with full bmr susp. It was wicked!

Will provide you with plenty of information to sort out your handling needs. Don't fall victim to 'must have' powder coated red parts.
