View Full Version : Intake temp sensor (Air charge temp sensor) location

My Mass flo kit originally had the air temp sensor in the air cleaner.
I am considering either putting it in the plenum or out on the radiator support. I have done both with Mopar Magnum motors in the past.
Only reason is for a cleaner install. Any opinions?

The IAT is used by the ECM to determine the temperature of the air that is ingested by the engine. The closer you can get it to the intake valve, the better, so the manifold plenum is the ideal location.

So, drilling and tapping a hole in the manifold is not a bad idea?
I was contemplating putting a hole in my manifold just under the TB, between where the runners meet the plenum. Wasn't sure if there would be issues.

I drilled and tapped a hole in my plenum directly under the TB. It worked fine.
