Hi Anyone know if the autokraft pan works with the ATS plates?

http://www.autokraft.org/products/

I purchased the plates already and was wondering if anyone has already run these plates and this pan.

My understanding is that it works. I recall Tyler stating it somewhere. You just have to tap an extra mounting hole in the block or it will likely leak.

I have the ATS plates with a Champ pan, which I suspect, but have not verified is identical to the Autokraft pan. Depending on which frame mounts you use the pan will clear a stock subframe. I think I ended up with the stock small block frame motor mounts. The 302 mounts were too low and the pan hit the subframe.

The Autokraft pan will likely leak if you do not tap an extra hole in the block when it is installed. Nothing to do with the ATS mounts. Sorry for the confusion.

Any idea where that extra hole needs to be added?

I wonder why Autokraft would not include this little added tidbit of info for the proper leak-free use of their pan?

You will see a mounting hole in the pan without a corresponding hole in the block. At least that is my understanding.

DonWhen I put my Autokraft pan on my new LS3 crate engine there were no extra bolt holes in the pan that were unused, all of the bolt holes lined up with the same ones used by the factory pan. :dunno::confused:

This might be a problem with LS1 blocks only, on my LS3 it bolted up with no 'missing bolt' issue.

Too bad there are no pics in that thread to show where the missing bolt hole is.
