my name is joe. i'm a registered user on many forums. i'm registered as FirstGenZq8 on 99% of them.
i have a passion for vehicles. cars, trucks, import, whatever.
i also have an OCD when it comes to wheels. i have been obsessed by them for years. how they're constructed, methods of forging, capabilities of those forgings, design, weight reduction, finish methods. ALL of it.
i get PMs and emails from a few of the automotive sites i frequent. the theme of those PMs/emails usually goes like this:
- what BS do i need for my application?
- where do you go to get your wheels powder coated?
- will powder coating weaken wheels?
- do you recommend manufactuer X? or vendor Y?
- thank you for thread X! i'm glad someone is willing to get dirty to get the information we need!
recently, i've gotten 1 each of below:
- why are you such a dick to wheel manufacturers/vendors?
- watch your tone jerkoff.
i'm not here to start fights. like everyone else, i'm here to learn. i get happy pants thinking about wheels. wheel weights. MOI.
i've taken a burden upon myself to get this type of information. what i find is as much for the community as it is for me. please never mistake my gruff nature for being an *******. i'd like to one day meet some of the manufacturers and vendors that i ride the hardest.
some have noticed that i choose to probe DriverzInc for wheel weights. i do so because he is the most visible vendor on this site. he answers questions w/ a quickness and has fitment tech info that rivals, and in many cases, topples, much larger establishments. his customers praise him. perhaps most importantly, he believes in the products he sells as well.
i believe most if not all of the manufacturers and vendors on this site share jon's passion for the wheels they sell. i want that passion to include weighing the wheels that you manufacture and the wheels that you sell. information such as that can make or break a sale, and i think all manufacturers and vendors owe that to their customers.
i promise i'm not crazy. i promise i'm not a walking penis.
thoughts?
