The goal for my '69 Firebird is to have a car that can be daily driven as well as perform decently during an occasional quarter mile run. I realize this is the pro-touring forum, but there is always a lot of good advice here on muscle cars in general.

I am interested in the Street Challenge kit from Air Ride Technologies mainly because of the ride height adjustability and the ease of intallation. I know they test their parts on the road track, but are their parts strong enough to hold up to the demands of quarter mile acceleration with good traction and around 750hp?

I am obviously biased on this subject, but I would like to refer you to a video of a 6 second pro mod Camaro with ShockWaves.

This is one of several cars that primarily drag race with our components.
Why is air suspension not more prevelant in drag racing? Likely because we dont push it that much...we are having so much fun autocrossing and road racing that we haven't pushed the drag racing thing...so far.

Also, at the Run Through the Hills event in Pigeon Forge last year, our Velocity Camaro won the drag race event. I can't lay hands on a video of that right now but I'm sure someone here will help with that.

I appreciate your considering our stuff for your project...we wont let you down. [or maybe we will...depending on your perspective! :)]

.....Also, at the Run Through the Hills event in Pigeon Forge last year, our Velocity Camaro won the drag race event. .....

We're still really, really angry about that. Our Air Ride equipped car would have won the whole shebang if not for your spoiler E.T. run. As retribution, I plan on sneaking into your room this year and lining your sheets with shaving cream. So check your bed nightly.

Vinnie, the owner of the 68 below wanted a pro-touring car but really loves drag racing. He ended up with a car that won the Year One Autocross Cup last year, came in second at Run Thru The Hills 4 (Bret's Fault) and has spent plenty of time on road courses, drag strips and the street. It's confirmed and documented. The car does EVERYTHING well.

Air Ride allows us to run the car in a variety of events with just wheel/tire and shockwave tuning changes (push buttons/turn knobs). So we just turn lug nuts and tweak the suspension settings. Rebound is reduced up front while rear suspension gets raised to make room for the slicks and then preloaded.
