I have a 2003 5.3 engine only so I have to supply my own harness and ECM. I can get a deal from Painless, and get a reman ECM. Or go through Tech Rods and get a Reman ECM and have it Re-Flash. My rep from painless says that they will re-flash my ECM to my specs for free.
Or Get a donor harness (if so from what car) and mod it and get a Reman ECM. Lots of options in need of a little guidance. I will be using a LS-1/6 Intake and a 200-4R trans and Camaro based Kwik-perf Pulley system. HELP:rolleyes:

Are you near a decent chassis tune shop? I'd get the stock ECM and have then tune / flash the box with an edit program so you know it's right.

I have a decent shop nearby and I will more than likely take it to them to dial it in. I just checked the so-called deal on painless and I guess I'll be looking elsewhere. I assume if I get a Camaro Harness (for example) and remove all the un-needed stuff myself then get an ECM for the same year then I could have the ECM flashed by my local shop to get it running and then bring it in for a final chassis tune. Does that sound about right.

Yep, Tech Rods appears to still be on Ebay. $400.00 for harness.

Speartech x4. John is great with supporting his harness if you have installation problems.

If you are on a budget you may want to consider an ECM and harness from a truck. The harness is usually long enough to mount the ECM where you wish, and gutting it is no harder than the F-body harness.

Thanks Carl I may ask you for some advice/input later. I think that will be the way I go. With the truck harness/ECM and mod it. If I run the LS1/6 will I have to change the injector plugs? I don't think the trunk injectors will work with the LS1/6 fuel rails. Or has anyone made the truck intake look good(Just kidding). After this weekend I'll have 2 5.3's I'm picking up another one for a 20 pack of Coors light. This one is a clean runner top to bottom.
