      Best way to ship wheels/tires?

Does anyone have recommendations on the best way to ship a set of wheels with tires mounted? Should I try to box them? Any good sources for boxes? Should I wrap them somehow?

UPS seems pretty spendy. Are there other good options?

      Thanks. --Neil

I've cut circles out of cardboard to protect the tire and wheel. Then taped them criss cross onto the wheel/tire. Cut a couple handles in the cardboard near the wheel lip and shipped them Fedex.

I have used the same method as above with great results.

Also, last time I did a rate comparison, Fedex ground blew away UPS. Not even close...

Be careful of surcharges on these quotes too for oversized packages and such.

Card board on the faces, 2 layers of card board and shrink wrap. Greyhound is a inexpensive alternative

Thanks everyone. FedEx seems much more reasonable than UPS as well.
