I bought a new set of Ford SVO injectors and used them about 6 months. I then pulled the engine apart. That was 3 years ago. The injectors were left in the manifold but the intake was off the car and stored in a dry but unheated garage.

Should I have the injectors cleaned before returning them to use? Run a good injector cleaner through the tank and call it good? I'm on a fairly tight budget and just didn't want to spend needless money. Will they be okay as is?

What's your ideas?

Thanks

clean the injectors. i purchased a set of low mileage injectors that had sat for a while and had issues running rich at idle and lean under load. I spoke with the guys at FIC http://fuelinjectorconnection.com/shop/ . they informed me that gas will gunk up in the injector just as it does in an old tank and clog the injector. i think the cost was reasonable to clean them.

Thanks. I had almost forgot about this post. I did some looking online and found some good pages on how to clean your injectors yourself at home.

A couple cans of Chevron Techron with some premium from
Amoco/BP or Shell also helps clean them up, big issue are the small filter screens on rail side getting crusty and stopped up. Takes special tool to remove and install them but I have gotten them out with pic in pinch.
