Need Some Help Finding Tires!!

I'm kind of shifting themes with my driver (86 C10 short bed). Currently I have 285-60-18 on an 18x8 wheel and I'm not crazy about the setup for multiple reasons.

Now what I'd like to do is shift more toward a 'Nascar' type of look/stance with the new setup. I want to build this setup around the tire size to nail down the overall look (short/stocky/wide). But this can be tricky with a full size C10 short bed. I don't want to get the 'elephant on roller skates look'.

So currently I have a 31.5" x 11.73" tire. I want to go shorter and wider but am having trouble finding a good size. (The wheel size should be between 15"-18" diameter and 9-10" wide, but it's not important at this time). I'd like to find a 28-30" tall tire and at least a 12" total section width. And they should be street oriented tires. Once I get the tires nailed down I'll find the right wheel to go inside.

If you go to www.tirerack.com (http://www.tirerack.com) you can view tire specs all day long. They will provide recomended rim width, rim width used for measurements, diameter, width etc.

For example, I plugged in your 285/60/18 then hit specs on the BFG KDW that came up. It then lists specs for that specific size, but then goes on to list all sizes/specs available in that model.

Also if you look on Tirerack and other sites they are blowing out the Victory aluminum nascar looking wheels. I think some are as low as $70 each. I am sure with some adapters you would be good to go.

By the way I have Aero wheels on my wagon and 2 had to be returned as they couldn't be balanced and the ones that are on the car have a strip of weights about 6" long. They are lighter than say Cragars but there are trade offs.

With that glaring review for Aero I think I'll pass! I'll have a look at the Nascar wheels though..

The problem with 15" wheels is that the tire selection sucks of course. I'm am doomed to a 275/60 or a 295/50 so I am thinking about running a 295 50-16 on all for corners. Thats 27.6 x 12".

So I am going to look for a couple options in a 16x10 wheel.

I really like the Basset Wheels... so much that I might run a 295/50-15 at all fours.

Unless anyone has any ideas for a 16x10 wheel in a 5x5 lug pattern.
