When using these wheels, and the Vette Brakes Spacers, do the brakes look goofy set back an inch or two from the inside face of the wheel, or do they look pretty normal. Tony H. This is a good one for you... Thanks in advance..

I am curious about this myself. Also would like to know if anyone knows what size rims people are using when running this combo front and rear.

Thanks
Mark

I've been using those 2" spacers for 2 years. I have the 17 x 9 (ZR1 style) SS Camaro wheels. I have not had any trouble with them. The OD is 1/4" larger than the mounting surface of my wheels, so you can slightly see them. Otherwise they look like part of the brake disc. The spacers are pretty sturdy and do add some unsprung weight to the suspension. I really like the look of the Z06 wheels, and they are fairly inexpensive. I have been waiting too see them on an early Camaro. The snobby "Vette" owners I've talked to will not let me borrow theirs for a test fit!

I have them on my 67 and I think they look fine. I was a bit concerned before I put them on but I think they look great

I also like my wheels pretty good. However, they are probably not recommended for any type of racing. For that reason, I have lately been looking for something reasonably priced that looks better and fits without spacers. It's tough when I only paid $650 for these wheels!

so if you have 17x9 with spacers they will fit on a 67, i am trying to get the SS wheels but wont to make sure they fit. :scared:

Hello ,

I am glad I came across this thread. I have a 55 Bel-Air , with 2'' drop spindles up front , and de-arched leaf springs in the back. If i run some sort of wheel spacer , will I be able to run late model Camaro SS/Zr1/C5 wheels on my car. ??

I take it the spacers "eat up" the huge offset. As far as I am aware , the offset I need is right around 3 or 3 1/2 , and the late model wheels are around 6....

My 17 x 9 wheels have a 2" offset which is about 7" backspacing. I actually ordered the spacers after I had the tires and wheels, after careful measuring. My rear wheel adapters are actually 2 1/4" to make the tires look nice in the wheel well. Each car's sheetmetal is a little different so measure carefully!
