17x9.5 wheel size?

I have a '68 Camaro, I installed the Hotchkis lowering kit which lowered it 2in. in the front, and 1.5in. in the rear. I am looking to purchase Vintage Wheel Works V40 or V45 wheels in 17's. I 've read that a 17x9.5 with the right backspacing will fit without any rubbing issues. Is anybody currently running this size wheel, I would just like some input if I should go wit hthe 9.5 or something smaller.

That is what I'm looking for...I like the way it looks. I guess all you can do is try it and if it doesn't work...FIX IT. Thanks for the info.
