Decided on my Wheels 17x8 17x10

Well Finally made a decision on the wheels and tire combo for my 69 convertible. I am going with the Famosa dished fatlip 17x8 in the front with 235/40/17 in the front and the 17x10 with a 285/40/17 in the rear. Talked to Jon at Budnik and he told me that the 17x10 would fit the stock rear wheel well on my car. Has anyone else used a 17x10 in the rear of their car with a 285 tire? How does it fit?

Did you decide on the black centers? There are a few people running 17x10s with both 275s and 285s. You'll probably have to roll the lips with a 10" wide tire. I know that Steevo has 18x10s on his '68 with 285s, and Tony (nineball) I believe has 17x10s on his '69. I'm not sure if he runs 275s or 285s, though. There are others out there as well. Also, you should be able to get a 245 up front depending on what the backspacing is.

I was going to do the black centers but cant find anyone to photoshop them on my car so I can see what they will look like. I guess I can always get them powdercoated if I want to but cant reverse the process. According to John at Budnik, I dont have to roll the lip. With the proper backspacing and the dished Famosa with the Fat Lip, he says it is not necessary. I hope he is right cause I really dont want to roll the lip.
