DSE control Arm kit [Archive]

hello everybody ,,,

am building a 69 firebird ,,, i just got my DSE control Arm kit(Coilover) ,,, to use it with stock subframe u need to buy the coilover conversion kit ,,, they use Koni shocks that has a bearing on the lowerside that will match their lowerControl arm ,,,is there any other shocks brand that will fit there control arm ,,, and if i wanna go aftermarket subframe in the future ,,, can i use my control arms ,,,for example can i use them on speedtech subframe? is it gonna fit or should i use there convertion kit ? and what do u guys think about DSE kit ...

yes you will be able to use the DES Arms and shocks on a Speedtech subframe. we do not use Koni shocks so there may be some slight modifying to mount the upper but nothing major.

i really appreciate ur help ,,,

see the problem is i have got my DSE control arms (upper and lower"the lower has bearing for the shock) however i have not buy the shock and the spring yet ,,, now i want to buy the speedtech subframe and i like the QA1 coilover,,, i contacted DSE and asked if i can use the Arms with Qa1 and speedtech frame they did not give a clear answer yet ,,,

so plz guys should i order the koni shock or QA1 shock will do the job ,,,because i noticed that QA1 shocks has also a bearings in the two ends of the shock ,,, not sure about the size ,,, but again thats y i need ur help ,,,

Have you looked at Varishocks? I think I would prefer those over QA1's.

thanks for ur replay ,,, i will consider and possible option ,,, but the question since DSE lower control arm is different(bearing shock)will QA1 or other brand fit to there control arm or not ?

Without comparing dimensions, I don't know if I feel comfortable answering that. My recommendation? Call up a race shop that sells multiple brands of race spec coilovers. Make sure they are a Koni dealer. They should be able to speak about the interchangability of the different coilover manufacturers. They should be fairly interchangable, just have to determine your stroke lengths needed and valving. Maybe start with these guys:
