Hello all,

I'm new to the site, love it!

I have a 1973 Camaro and I'm looking for a nice Torq Thrust II set up without changing the stock stance. I was thinking of going with 17x8 rear 255 40 17 and 17x7 front 245 40 17. Anyone a have a similar set up or better one?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciate before I blow a lot of money on a hooptie set up. :)

Thanks!!

Dino

I run PSE Trans Am II wheels, 17 x 8 fronts w/ 245/45-17 and 17 x 9 rears w/ 275/40-17 @ stock ride height. I have a tire rub issue, need to add rear axle location device such as a panhard or watts.

I'm running 17x8, 4.5bs front with 245/45-17, and 17x9.5, 5.5 bs with 275/40-17 rear. No rub issues, also have Hotchkis suspension which lowers the car 1 1/2 inches. My car is a '73 Camaro also. Wheels are Vintage wheelworks V-45s which will clear C4 brakes, 13" front and 12" rear.

Cannot argue with this combo, identical to mine except I run a 255/45 front and a 285/40 rear.
7's & 8's will look to skinny on a 2nd Gen,consider the above setup to fill up those wheelwells and you'll never regret it...

71 with 17,18 setup. 235/45/17 and 255/45/18. BTW these are for sale for $750 if interested.

Stock tires I think are about 27" tall. The 255/40R17 will be more like 25" tall and won't look right (too tiny for the wheel wells). The 255/45 and 285/40 would look much better at least. And on 18s it really fills up the wheel wells nicely (same as stock overall height).

With the 17's its very proportional and looks good rolling.

same set up as musclecarjohn's...they don't look small...at all.
