Max pressure is somewhere between 1000-1500 psi dpending on how the pump is set up. Use hose rated for at least 2000 psi.

Lee's set mine to 1450 psi @ 3gpm.

I know this is a little old but maybe someone can use this info. I am using the regular braided hose and aluminum fittings on my power steering and have been for at least 5 years now. No problems. It's not technically rated for the pressure but it works fine.

I hope nobody uses this "information". Most ordinary SS braided hose is rated at 300 psi, which is 5-7 times underrated for power steering. This is just a bad idea, and can potentially have serious consequences.

I can't recall where I got it from but I made some P/S pressure hose out of a steel braided teflon hose and a hose end slightly different than your regular AN fittings. I thought I got it from Speedway Motors but can't find it now on their website. I don't know anything about this place but I found some here http://www.delikon.com/teflon.html

Russell makes teflon lines pressure rated hose and fittings that you can get from Summit.

Don is right on the money. They aren't much fun to make, but I used them on my ride. You have a ticking time bomb there hotrod.

I'm using the Russell teflon hose. It works fine, and is rated for power steering, but I want to swap it out for some Brown and Miller stuff:

jp,
That looks like a standard industrial Aeroquip crimp-on fitting. You should be able to have a local shop build something similar. That way if you have two 90's on a hose you can clock them before the final crimp.

Change them out with Aeroquip TFE hose and fittings before they kill you.
