Is there an adapter needed to pull this off? I believe it has to converted from Elec to Mech. Does the Dakota Digital set-up do this? Any input on this would be helpful. I tried to find a previous post, but came up with nothing.
Thanks,
Jeff

Do you mean a 4L60E transmission driving a mechanical speedo? If yes, there are a few options. Cable-X is one but it is quirky and not a perfect solution. Here's a few threads:

I tried that link, but it said it was not found. Is there an 4L60 and an 4L60E? If there is both I believe it's a 4L60. The motor and trans are said to be out of a 94 Vette. Thanks again for any help on this.

Do you have a controller for your trans? If it has a computer then it is a 4l60e. The only controller that the 4l60 has is for the torque converter lockout.I would think but not sure that that trans would be a 4l60e.

After doing some reading, it appears the 4L60 is aka 700R4. The 4L60E seems to be a different animal than what I have. So I guess my questions stays the same, but Can re-phrase it to: What, if anything needs to be done for an aftermarket (autometer) gauge to function with a 700R4?

If your Autometer speedo is mechanical, you can pull the extension housing on your 4L60 and install the correct speedo drive gears just like you would in a 700R4. You might have to hit up a local transmission shop to find the correct bullet and hold down to replace the sensor in the extension housing. Then it's just getting the correct speedo cable either bought, or made for your application.
