Air Ride air line size???

Is there an ideal size air line I should run from my air valve manifold to the shocks? I've been told either 1/4" I.D or 3/8"I.D Is this true?

Either one will work. If you want it to adjust height quickly you will want larger line, but for use at any set height it doesn't take a large line at all.

Well... I would not use the 3/8" ID line. I think the 1/4" ID is too large. I dont think they supply that size with the system. I could go measure it but it looks smaller. I have read that too large of a ID line makes it difficult to precisely adjust the ride height. I swapped all my fittings over to accept some stainless braided areoquip hose, I have hundreds of feet of it so I wanted to put it to some use.. And if its still too touchy Ill make some orifices to limit the flow. I dont need a quick change in the ride height, just controllable. A 1/8" ID would work for me. Just playing with them on the bench, the shockwaves, it doesnt take much air volume to make them change in height. JR

everyone has ther own prefrence for line size.the big difference is the speed that the bag inflates and deflates as someone already posted. but if you have a bunch of 3/8 lineyou can use it but you might want to install flow control valves. to slow the speed down.also the larger the line the harder it is to get it to stop where you want it.unless you install the flow control valves. keep in mind even if you have the lines, all of your fittings will cost moreand the increased size somtimes can cause interference problems or heat issues.me personaly i would go with the 1/4. it is easier to run, easier to hide.and operates slow enough to control. hope this helps your project.

Thats not what you sent ME LOL The OD is .250" The ID is .167" Yeah, I know, its 1/4" line (OD) but for clarification for a guy wanting to ditch the plastic tube for some nice line its .167" ID. I have hundreds of feet of aeroquip stainless braided line so I had to put it to good use, just happens to be a good size. JR

Oh yeah, and I would be happy with a 1/8" ID line too. The bags fill up pretty quick, and Im not in a speed race. Controllability means more to me.
