      Filler sanding

...What grit do you use when sanding your filler? For some reason 100 stands out in my mind, but that seems a little on the lighter side.

      filler

i usually sand my first coat with 80, then if it is good, i skim with a finish putty and sand with 180-220 then prime, if are is real bad i will hit it with filler, then take it down with 36, to find low spots, then go on to 80, then 180-220, goodluck

      WELL SAID
I never go all the way to 220 most people will over sand with 220 and make the repair wavy 180 is a good stopping point primer will fill 180 with no problem!

I use 40 to rough something in, then 80, then 120. A lot of people use 150, but 120 cuts a lot faster but is still pretty smooth.
