      Make your own seat covers??

How difficult would it be to make your own covers??? If you have an existing set to use as a pattern and a good enough sewing machine with someone who knows how to sew. I would think it wouldn't be too hard. Anyone ever tried to do this ????

Think the operative words here are "a good enough sewing machine with someone who knows how to sew" As I understand it, most Suzy Homemaker machines are either just barely or not up to the task of sewing fabrics or materials used in seat materials that have good durability. Secondly, in my case, my Suzy doesn't sew.

There is a reason I pay the big bucks to have my chairs professionally recovered- it's to stay married (And I also don't want to die in my sleep of Sudden Adult Spousal Strangulation Syndrome).

Finally, I'm guessingb there's an element of time. I don't know how many hours it would take.

LOL ... Thanks. My "Suzy" does sew and wouldn't mind doing it but her machine is not up to the task. But I found an old friend whose wife still does heavy duty sewing for boat stuff and sails. She said she would do my new seats cheap.
