Starting to look at some seats for the 69 Camaro vert and would like some input.

Since I'm WAYYYYYYY over budget on everything else, I'd like to find a quality seat that is budget friendly, I. E. < $500 for front set inlcuding adjusters and mounts.

Any ideas or comments?

Must be black leather, pleather, or vinyl (will be covering w. houndstooth down the road)

Race design with side bolsters and holes in headrest and side for harness.

Recline and fold for back seat access

As low or least tall as possible - stock height + or - Hate when the seats are towering over the interior.

I may just live with the stockers for now, but doesn't hurt to ask.

Thanks

Sounds like you're looking for a set of 4th gen Camaro seats to me.

+1

the only other seats I can think of in that price range would be the summit seats they have.

I just bit the bullet and bought some corbeau seats even though I'm waaaayyyy over budget too. Got lucky and found some for $600 for both on ebay.... maybe you should search on ebay and see what you can find.

I just ordered a Procar Sportsman kit from Summit. It includes two seats, sliders and mounts for $400. Should be here tomorrow. I'll post some pics and let you know how comfy they are. I will also place them in my mustang and you can see how large they look

Thanks. I saw those and they look nice and the price is right. Looking for real world impressions, so very helpful.

Even at that price, if they are junk, then I'd rather stick to the stockers for now. Seats are a safety component as well and don't need then folding up in a crash, God forbid.

I just got them and opened one during lunch. The backs are very firm and the seat bottom is a good blend of firm but not to hard. The seat backs are pretty wide. I wear a 42" suit coat and a 33" waist. Just a quick update. I'll get pics soon. Seems to be built more solidly than the basic Summit seats which look to be the same as Oreilly's and Shucks.

Thanks for the "seat of your pants" review. Literally!

When you say firm, are they uncomfortably firm? How about the mounting brackets provided? Does in put the seat too hight off the floor.

Look forward to seeing the pics.

Thanks again for your help.

Well the seats are in. They are about 1" to 1.5" taller than the originals. The backs of the seats are very hard. The lumbar area sticks out pretty far and is hard. I hope they will soften over time. Overall, the construction looks good but if I had a high dollar project I would definately skip these and go for the Corbeau or Recaro's. I tried to resize pics but am having issues. Sorry

I bought the procar elite seats for my camaro. I went to sema this year to compare seats and figure out which ones were the best bang for my dollar. I did like some higher end seats but that would have blown my budget. The only complaint I have is that I have'nt received my rear seat cover yet and it keeps getting backordered. I do like everything else about the seats.
