I got a set of sub-frame connectors that I bought way back in the Upper-Paleozoic Era. I think they are from Competition Engineering.
They look like this...

I'm wondering if I can get away with using these for now until I can get something fancier down the road. Will they hang down too low for a car like mine and give me fits going over curbs? Or can I get away with it?
Thanks.

I've had those exact ones in my car for years, and I like them. They noticeably stiffen the car, and I've never had any clearance issues. They arent as fancy as some other brands, but I like em. They dont hang down all that bad. Pics of my car in this thread.

Bolt em in for now and run it. If they work fine and don't drag you'll be solid and won't have to spend any more $$. If they give you fits you can get some weld in dealies and install them over next winter.

OK, thanks. I just wanted to see if anyone else was running them and if they had problems with them. I will have to see how the budget goes, if I can afford some nicer ones this Summer I'll go for it. If not I'll just bolt these puppies in.

Those can be welded too. I had a set welded in once. My current ones are only bolted in, until the GW ones in my rafters get installed. Make sure to replace the j nuts even if the old ones look usable. It is cheap insurance now.

I've actually cut a set of those up and re-welded them into the car to sit higher. Came out pretty good.
