Hydroboost - Mount Angled or Straight?

I just purchased an Astro van hydroboost for my '72 LeMans. The car also has Baer disc brakes (13" front, 12" rear) and I used the master cylinder that came with the brake kit.

Do you guys recommend angling the hydroboost (like the vacuum booster) and connecting the rod to the lower (power brake) hole on the brake pedal? Or should I mount the HB straight on the firewall and use the upper (manual brake) hole on the pedal? I've seen people install both ways and want to learn more about people experiences and why they did what they did.

Hydratech angles it slightly and uses the top hole in the pedal if that makes any difference.

I'm aware of your brackets and they have an angle to them, correct? Do you know which hole people normally use with your brackets?

I thought it was best to keep the rod going into the HB as straight as possible, so I thought that would drive the mounting angle. Is there any truth to this?

Yes, keep the rod angle as straight as possible to prevent any undue side loads on the Hydroboost piston.
