I have the 2'' drop DSE front coils and I need another 1'' drop to get the stance I want. The top of the coil is flat and the bottom is the "wild" end of the coil. Some say to cut the top and some say to cut the bottom? I guess I have the spring in right? Dont know which advise to take? Thanks.

I would cut the open end of the spring. This way it wont change the design shape of it. Remember to cut half the distance you need, for the desired drop.

How long have the springs been in the car ??
They will settle an inch after you drive it for a few hundred miles or so.
If you cut them when they are new, chances are it will settle and be too low later.

How many miles do you have of this set of springs? If you have just installed them they will settle. Put at least a 1000 miles on them so they will take their seat. If you have put the miles on them and it still sits too high than cut them, but dont cut the flat end. If you cut a half of one coil you should drop about 1 inch. When cutting dont use a torch. Use a cutoff wheel.
