69 Camaro dash question

I am finishing up re-doing my dash and have a question about the Grab Handle..

I bought the Grab Handle kit which has the handle, the Long Rectangle trim piece and the Camaro logo..

The problem is that the holes in the dash for the grab bar dont line up with where the trim piece holes need to go..

Did some cars come without the trim piece and have the grab bar in a different location???

Do you need a pic or measurments? My interior is bare so I can help you out (i think) I have the ribbed panel as well as the grab handle but havent tried it to see if it fits or not.

I think it came both ways. Some with only the grab bar .
