here it is. today we brought home another project. 69 camaro born as a plain jane 6cyl 3 on the tree butter-nut yellow car. it will be alot more. plans call for a ride height of around 4in with air. alot of very subtle body mods and either an ls3 or ls7 with a 6spd then 9in to round it all out. hope you enjoy

so starting your own shop is a very tedious task and alot of running around and setting on the phone so not alot of work has been done but here it is.
1 drip rail is shaved
2 window channels front and rear were replaced
3 braced the car for the channeling
4 fixed rust in pass door and striped paint
5 cut open quarter vents
6 ordered willwood 6piston breaks from frank at prodigy
7 ordered airride from air ride tech
8 ordered subframe from checkered racing
9 ordered roll cage from autoweld chassis
not alot of progress for me but considering that 3 days were spent setting up my shop and then the time spent on the phone or running around i'm happy.

well i just rolled in from panama city beach for springbreak (i'm only 22) and decided to update the pics of EXCESS. well a little work has taken place, made new brace for rear bumper, finished exhoust ports, and bodywork to rear and driver side so the body is in primer except for the rockers wich i have plans for. the suspention is finally comeing together with the front subframe finnally welded in and raised almost 2 inches without sacrifising any headroom. so the rest of this week will be slow because of all the measuring with installing the front bags and rollcage and the fact that i just got back from springbreak and am a little ruff. but heres the pics and let me know what you think. and please someone tell me how to make the pics bigger

05-22-2009, 10:00 AM
the car has seen alot of work since these last pics but cant take any for i found out that putting your camera in your pocket does not keep it dry enuff when your stuck in a downpoor. but since pics the front has had a few new brackers for the bags made and a notched and smoother core. the firewall has be finished on both sides. the rear suspention has been changed from a 3link to a 4link and now has custom floor pans covering it all. tubs were also made to cover the huge wheels and i started tucking the rear bumper. and thanks to my donated 6.0 lq4 i have begun mocking up the motor mounts

well a litlle more work done. the rear suspention finished up and some floor pans to make it actually feel like a car again.

yes this was noticed and taken care of. was a combo of miss aligened trunk drip rail and just sag from no bracing when it was a race car. a little re-welding and body work and all is good. new pictures will be up soon

well heres some updates on the excessive. pics in no order and will have more when finders are back on. finders turned out to be one hell of a headache but in all gained another 1.5 lower stance and lost no turning radious throw 90% of suspention travel. and they look cool

Those inner fenders look great and I can see the amount of work in them, man that is a lot of tacking and bending.
I really wanted to put my wiper motor in the same spot but chickened out because we get snow here sometimes in Sept. and sometimes I have been caught in it accidentaly and I thought the length and the bend it has to take to get there might have bent under the stress if someone other than myself thought they could clear an inch of snow off the windshield. Changing it is also a problem depending on the inner fender and how easy it is to get there.
Keep up the great work .

i'm in florence. right on the tn/al line.
I like what you're doing. I'm also going to go out on a limb and say paint the car butternut yellow. Seriously. It's a very pretty color and it will stand out without having a paint choice that's jumping up and down screaming look at me. People will not expect a car built up like this to be butternut yellow.
Also, learn to take better pictures with proper lighting and all. I say this because if you want to operate a business, you'll need to show off your work. Yes, a finished car says a lot but so do many in progress pictures. Whipping out a bunch of bad lighting blurry photos so show a potential customer what you can do for them is a very bad idea. You're doing great work and you want the pictures to show that. Good luck and keep it up. I like this build.
For proof on a simple yellow paint job working wonders, go find pictures of Jackass.

yea i've seen the jackass car in person but honestly the color yellow just makes me sick. and as for the pictures its probly a combo of bad camara and lazy photographer. i know better pics would help but i usually dont take pics till after i've clean the shop and ready to head home normally around 11. but new camara coming from santa so maybe i'll stop be'n lazy to. and p.s thanx to the moderator that changed my signature. i apologize for the language, i tend to forget not everyone likes that kinda stuff
