starting to rebuild front end on an a-body

I'm starting to rebulid the monte and have the upper a arms lower arms, b spindles and now trying to decide on a spring form the front.
Car is going to be a weekend car and a track car if i find the time i would like a happy medium if possible I don't mind a rough ride as long as I can get it to handle.
engine will startout a 468 big block.
      trans a turbo 400 until I can afford a t56.
Right now I need to figure out a spring rate to go with and if I go standard spring which manufacturer is good to start out with.
Also thinking about coil overs for it.
Let me know what you think?

brans72 is correct about the b spindle. For springs on the cheap go with circle track springs and adjusters. 9.5 x 5 in spring in the 750 - 800 lb range should be good for the big block. Match them in the rear with 175-225lb 11 x 5.5 spring with pigtail on one end. These springs can be picked up for around $70 a pair.
