Anybody happen to know if American Racing Torq Thrust II's and Vintage Wheel Works V40's have the same center cap bolt pattern? I am wanting to run the AR "shorty" polished center caps in place of the VWW caps? I know VWW makes a set of flat caps but have never been a huge fan of the looks of them, as they look like a cheap alternative. Anybody have any insight on this or seen this done....TIA

I'm pretty sure they are different. It would be a HUGE coincidence if they were exactly the same.

Actually the flat caps look pretty good in person.

Have pretty much come to the conclusion that you are right. Was going to give VWW and American Racing a call Monday to inquire about some specs tho. I will have to do some more research on how they look, maybe it is just the VWW pics that are throwing off the look for me? Appreciate the feedback....

These two pics still have my curiosity peaked tho for other center cap options. Just not 100% what these are? The rims are V45's, so somebody makes some flat caps other than VWW, just gotta find out who?

Does anyone know if American Racing still makes the blank center caps. I was also looking for a set to have machined custom for my Hopsters.

Thanks Stephan

Hi Jay, tried to give you a call back but got your voice mail. I just do pulled both caps from the VWW and a TTII and the TTII cap bolt pattern is larger than the VVW cap. So hope this helps.

Here are a couple of pictures of flat caps on my v45s. They are billet and made by a company called Scott Drake. Cost 99 dollars

Yes they are different as Tim has confirmed.
I got mine through Tom Cruise at the Mustang Ranch here in Nor Cal because like Scott Drake who specializes in Mustang stuff, they are made to fit the Fords.I know VWW now sells them as well.

I saw an article in Popular Hot Rodding (Apr 2007) where they put the flat caps on their V40's on the 69 Chevelle they were working on. $37 in the article. I got mine from them. They look just like the caps pictured in the first post above. May even be where VWW is getting theirs from. Advanced Waterjet & Engraving. advancedwj.com

I emailed them and ask if they still had the cnc program for them and they replied they did. I replied I'd be interested in some and how much they charged. 2 weeks later I had a box sitting at my door with my flat caps in it. I emailed them and asked how much I owed them and never got a reply!

Now I just need to save up and get the wheels...

ThosE are sharP! Have you guys thought about countersinking the holes and using a small stainless flathead screw? I think it may "clean" the look up a little better?jmo
