Received a few phone calls over the last few days. People wanted to know why we don't offer a transmission software tuning option like Keisler. The answer is very simple:
Tuning capability is standard. Always has been, always will be.
Actually ALL transmission controllers--Compushift, TCI, Baumann Engineering, GMPP and Powertrain Control Solutions allow you to tune your transmission. No need to pay extra for this capability. We can't think of a single good reason to charge extra for something that is standard.
After many years of selling and testing TCU's, we've become pretty darn good at developing calibrations. Every Compushift unit we ship includes a base calibration. But every end user and vehicle is different. Transmission calibration is tied directly to input torque and engine tune. So a base calibration is just that.
Fine tuning gives you the ability to personalize the transmission to match your exact driving preferences. 1-2 shift happening a little late? Tweak it. 3-4 shift too early? Tweak it. And should your vehicle specs change down the line (i.e. different tire dia.), you can change your settings in seconds--right in your garage.
Tuning is quick and easy. Lifetime support is only a phone call away. Fine tuning is the single best reason to choose an electronic transmission over its pre-electronic equivalent (i.e. 700R4 vs 4L60E)
And it's STANDARD.
