      TH400 filter problem

I purchased a flat filter from JEGS but when I pulled the pan I found out the filter that is in it is the rectangular type with the intake tube attached. Is there anyway to make the flat filter work, does anyone sell the intake tube? Or is it even worth it, should I just go buy the rectangular type? I bought the TCI kit with the flat filter thinking it was better and held more fluid, plus I didn't realize there were different filters for this trans. Attached are pics of the filter that is in it now, and the filter type I bought from JEGS. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

You can change to the flat filter, however you will need to find a 2 dimple style pan and change the pickup tube and hold down bolt. If you are going to go this far, you might as well update to a deep pan. Just be sure if you change to the deep pan that you use the longer pickup tube and bolt with spacer. We keep the old style sump style filters like you had originally if you would rather go that way. Either way we can help get you the right parts.

Thanks so much for your help Mark! I ended up just ordering the original filter from CarQuest this past weekend, apparently no one keeps this in stock anymore. I really appreciate you taking the time to read and respond though, and after reading what you wrote it seems as though going with the stock filter is going to be the easier, least expensive option.
