I changed over my stock front drums on a 71 cutlass to discs years ago. At the time, the car craft article said I didn't need to change the distribution box to a proportioning valve. Well, I'm doing other changes now so I want to have a proportioning valve in. I found one off an 87 Monte Carlo SS in the junkyard; can this go directly in to a 71 Cutlass?

Thx for your thoughts.

I'd imagine the SS disc/drum prop valve should work just fine for your car, as far as the bias goes. The only issue you might have is the fittings; I'm not positive, but they might be metric threads. I've never had mine apart to verify.

I made sure to get all the fittings going into the proportioning valve. I'll just get some lines that I can add the fittings to.

Thx
