Doing a 4L80E swap, and am looking for choices in speedo converter boxes. What are the 'good' ones, which will get you by, or does it make more sense to just change the speedo to an electronic one?

Typically, it makes more sense to just get an aftermarket electronic speedo to match other gauges and take advantage of added features. As for a factory speedo adapter unit, they can be pricey, but speedometers can be finicky. So go with these guys for zero head scratching.

Well, since the factory speedo has the high beam indicator and turn signal lights, was kind of hoping to keep it, since I don't feel like going through the hassle at the moment to 'do it up'. Saw the cable-x boxes, and pricey is right. Saw the tail housing replacement ones too, even more pricey. Trying to see what my options are here, may end up just throwing a cheap-o speedo on the dash until I get around to doing the gauges.

I am selling an abbot box check the fs forum if interested.

I used it with a 4L80e and the factory speedo in my 69 Camaro.

BTO has the cable-X boxes new for 293.00, and several other places have them for $310. The least expensive I saw it was $274.95, which is still more than what the speedo I am considering switching to is. If I hold out, should be able to get one off eBay for under 200...
