Nascar look???

Ive been thinking of ways to make my car look a little different then everyone elses and i was thinking of maybe putting nascar aeero wheels on my car. I dont know how it wold look. Ive seen a car on here that had nascar wheels on the back only and it looked cool. Does anyone have any pictures of a 1st gen with black nascar wheels with nascar looking tires or slicks? I think it would look cool as long as the car is dropped real low.

I have Aero 15x8's on my wagon and they are heavy wheels compared to aluminum pieces.

There are the Cragar D hole wheels and Soft8's that are similar. There is also an aluminum wheel that looks similar to the soft8 that is made by American Eagle. They are 17X9 as are the soft8's.

1st I think the NASCAR look would be a nice idea. It would give your car a different look. I will throw another idea at you for a wheel to consider. Centerline GNs http://centerlinewheels.com/wheels_detail.php?mw_id=35&sw_id=443 I realize this is a covered lugnut wheel but if you are going to paint or powder coat it black you will loose detail anyway. You can put a stripe the same color as the body around the lip. You can also have your chosie of diameter - width - backspace. 17s with 45 or even 50 series tires would give you plenty of sidewall and you would not be limited to 15 or 16 inch tire choises. It would be a lot more expensive than the Soft 8s and you would have to paint or powder coat them black but you would have your NASCAR look.

It kind of seems that it works best with flared fenders. I may just stick with the original plans and do 18's. I was trying to go cheap. I cant afford 18's for a while.

The rears are 245/45 and fronts are 225.
Eventually I'll shed the weight and get something in a 18x10 and 17x9.

Excuse the exterior. I've been doing all the "unseen" stuff, (in true street fighter fashion). When the car is able to walk off and leave 99% of the street cars in my town it doesn't need to be pretty.
I am thinking about putting it in O.D. Green like the F-bomb Camaro. I can get the paint for free at work, it looks cool, and I'm broke. It's looking like green it is. Oh yeah, the engine bay and jams are already dark green from the factory.

LOL. No way, it's been that way for the past, at least, the last 16 years. Probably the last 20 because my Dad owned it for 13 and it was probably like that awhile before he got it. It was up on blocks, engineless, the whole time.

I had these 'standard' steel 17X8" wheels custom-built to my specs about 10 years ago. I won't mention the company who made them because they were very difficult to deal with, taking 6 months after quoting me a 6 week delivery. My friend had them painted with black enamel at the bodyshop he manages, his Dad did the 1/4" wide red pinstripe on the rim lip to simulate the look of 14" redline tires.

Wheel Vintiques sells pretty much the same wheel (14 series Gennie)http://wheelvintiques.com/shopsite_sc/store/html/page13-ss4.html, you can buy them in 17X7, 17X8 and 17X9 as well as a lot of sizes in smaller rim diameters. However buying them 'right off the shelf' might not be a good idea, you really need the backspacing made to your specs to fit your car perfectly.

It looks like they'll do a custom backspacing on this particular wheel style, and they're now finally offering some fairly decent standard backspacing on them that should fit a lot of cars.

They look pretty much like an 'old school' NASCAR wheel with the hubcaps removed, I really like the way they look with the stock GM centers. Heavy of course at 37# bare just like the other 17X8" steel wheels mentioned here, 235/45-17s are mounted on all of them.
